Remote heart diagnosis through digital tablets

Patients in remote areas cannot always travel to urban centres for medical examinations. When he was 24, Arthur Zang invented the Cardiopad, a touch screen tablet that enables electrocardiograms (ECG) to be performed in remote, rural areas. The cardiac signals are transferred through the cell phone network and diagnosed by specialists, who receive the results in less than 30 minutes.
