on The Universe: A Detective Story

Hiranya Peiris is a Reader in Astronomy at UCL and the coordinator of the CosmicDawn project.  Currently a member of the Planck Collaboration which recently published the most detailed map ever created of the cosmic microwave background radiation, Hiranya studies the oldest light we can see in the universe to understand why and how the Big Bang occurred. In 2012, she received the RAS Fowler Award for Early Achievement in Astronomy.
