The long-awaited 5th edition of TEDxCERN is now confirmed and will take place on 20 November 2018 at Bâtiment de Forces Motrices in Geneva. At the crossroads of cultures and collaborations for science and peace, CERN is a unique placeThis year's theme is the Elephant in the Room, and it will explore the kind of transformative scientific innovation that is impacting the world we live in across a wide range of disciplines.

This year's theme is the Elephant in the Room, a concept defined as an obvious problem that is being ignored. It will explore the kind of transformative scientific innovation that is impacting the world we live in across a wide range of disciplines. Addressing the Elephant in the room of our present days, the event will tackle the incertitude of humanity’s destiny as a species. Where are we going? Will we destroy ourselves? Will we create new selves?

The disconnect between our science-dependent society and the science on which it is built is a major concern nowadays. With many elephants in many rooms across the world, we want to discuss and explore ways to understand, engage and find solutions.
