What do I need to do to host a TEDxCERN@(my institution)?

After you’ve sent us a confirmation email about your participation, follow the checklist of things to do:

  • Send us the name and email of the contact person who will coordinate the event: tedxcern-simulcast@cern.ch
  • Book a room where you can hold the Simulcast.
  • Provide us with the IP address of the computer that will be hosting the webcast.
  • Create a page on Eventbrite (or a similar service) with information such as venue, time, etc. The link to your event website will be listed on our home page.
  • Invite people in your community with whom your institution could engage in constructive dialogue. Is there a philosopher, neuroscientist, chemist, biologist, or multimedia artist at your institution or town with whom the institute could potentially collaborate in the future or would be fun to meet? The idea here is to multiply your dimensions.
  • Promote the event inside your institute by using provided TEDxCERN posters and press release templates.
  • Organize a reception after the event (it’s one of the most memorable parts of a TED event; the conversations AFTER the talks!)
  • Send us photos/videos of your event!!!
